Stinking Bishop Vouchers have been very successful at generating income in advanced and bringing new people into the business who will be potential return customers.

Vouchers are currently  generated manually, printed and posted daily during the weekdays The Stinking Bishops operate.

Email versions can be sent on request, without an automated online system it’s best not to advertise an email option.  This is because as soon as we made email an option for customers, they expected to receive the voucher immediately after paying and would call the store to complain.  It is best to meet expectation and offer the email service on request than disappoint customers regularly.

With that in mind lets go through Creating & Printing Voucher.

Go to the vouchers folder:

There are some very important steps in creating vouchers that needs to be done for record keeping.  The most important is to duplicate the voucher as soon as you open it.  IF YOU DON’T DO THIS STEP YOU WILL OVERWRITE AND DELETE THE LAST VOUCHER AND ITS DETAILS.  It may not seem important now, but there have been multiple times old vouchers have had to be investigated

The next important thing is to rename the file correctly.  If this is an online voucher see ‘Online Sales’ to find  all the details of voucher and the sale.

At this point it is best to ask the customer to either write down (for correct spelling) or for you to write down the following details on paper, or once you have duplicated the file, directly into the document:

  • Name/s of the voucher recipient
  • Total value of the voucher.
  • Personal Message

Use the person the voucher is to and the amount to modify the name of the document file as well as increasing the voucher number by 1.

In this example the name of the voucher will be ‘Test Voucher’ and the amount is ‘$80’ and the personal message is ‘Please enjoy the cheese!’

The syntax of the naming structure is:

TSB Voucher (Voucher Number) (Voucher Recipient) (Value of Voucher).pages

So the voucher name duplicated below will change from:

TSB Voucher 1276 Fran and Jim $100 Copy.pages

TSB Voucher 1277 Test Voucher $80.pages

Make sure you have the right printer paper ‘220 gsm’ card stock in the printer before printing

Once the Voucher is printed, Fold the voucher and seal with a ‘The Stinking Bishops’ sticker.

If the purchase was in store hand it to the customer.

If the purchase was on Squarespace, use a pre-paid stamp envelope and add the address of the voucher recipient and post the voucher.

If you need to email a pdf version of the voucher see the following instructions, if not skip this section.

** IMPORTANT ** The created voucher needs to be upload into the system.
